How to encourage home movers and people living in private rental accommodation to register to vote
In 2005, the Electoral Commission conducted research into the extent and nature of non-registration in Britain. The research found that the majority of people not registered to vote have either moved house within the last six months (of the qualifying date) or rent their home from a private landlord.
This section provides advice for electoral administrators and other practitioners on how to encourage voter registration among these two groups and also details the work the Electoral Commission is undertaking across the UK.
